Rita of Ujala Self Help Group of Gauriganj Tehsil joined this group in 2010. Earlier Rita was struggling with financial problems. Due to lack of money he had to take loans from others. But he did not lose courage and started sewing and embroidery work with Moonj Products under the “One District One Product” scheme. There were some difficulties in the beginning, but gradually he started getting success. Today about 10 women are working in their group, and all of them are getting good profits from this work.

Rita and the women of her group make suits-salwars, blouses, petticoats, palazzos, kurtis as well as chairs-tables, carpets, baskets, pee boxes, roti boxes, mats, and other items for the ease of puja. The price of these goods ranges from Rs 200 to Rs 2000, and everyone makes good profits from it.

Rita told in the conversation that when she was unemployed, she was in dire need of employment. Despite trying several times, he did not get any employment.
