Tehran. Iran has realized that now it has only one way to escape from Israel and that is to confront it. Hassan Khamenei, grandson of Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Khamenei, also agreed to the same thing. He said that Israel will not retreat until it is faced with force and power.
In an interview with Channel 1, he discussed Iran’s suggestion to hold a referendum on the establishment of a Palestinian state. Hassan also acknowledged that if the referendum were held, it would likely lead to the end of Israel due to majority rule by Palestinians. Khamenei claimed, “Whoever gets the most votes wins, and this will ultimately destroy Israel, and they know it.”
Hassan Khamenei also criticized the two-state solution proposed by the US, Britain and Israel. He said this is just a strategy to try to get the world to accept the legitimacy of the Israeli regime. Khamenei opposed two-statehood, saying, “It is wrong to think that if we (Iran) leave Israel alone, Israel will also leave us alone.” Khamenei said he believed talks and friendly gestures would get them nowhere. Instead, Iran will need to show its strength and military capability as the current global situation requires a strong approach to deal with Israel.
It is noteworthy that when Iran fired more than 180 ballistic missiles at Israel this week in response to the killing of Hamas and Hezbollah leaders in Israeli air strikes, some people were stunned to see Tehran’s strong reaction. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu immediately announced harsh retaliatory measures at a specific time. Due to this, clouds of war have started looming in the Middle East.
