New Delhi. When PM Narendra Modi, elated with the victory in Haryana, reached the BJP headquarters on Tuesday evening, he fiercely attacked the Congress party. PM Modi said that the Congress party is working to divide the country by talking about caste census. PM accused Rahul Gandhi of ruining the country. After this statement, the Prime Minister seems to be alone in the National Democratic Alliance i.e. NDA. NDA partner Chandrababu Naidu from Telangana is not with the central government on this issue. He openly supported conducting caste census in the country.
While talking to Indian Express, Chandrababu Naidu said that I support the caste census. It’s a feeling and there’s nothing wrong with it. You do caste census, you do economic analysis and you do skill census. You work on all these things so that economic inequalities can be reduced. Poverty is the biggest issue. Even if you are from a weaker section. If you have money, society will respect you. If you are from a higher caste and do not have money, no one will respect you. Money is a great balance. This is where you have to strike a balance.
Let us tell you that Bharatiya Janata Party has been opposing the caste census for a long time. She is not in favor of dividing the country on the basis of castes. Even during the last Lok Sabha elections, opposition parties had made this an issue. BJP also had to suffer its loss in the election results. The opposition was successful in creating the impression among the people belonging to Scheduled Castes and Tribes that if BJP comes to power for the third time, it will end their reservation. Despite repeatedly giving clarification on this, BJP could not convince the people.
