Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Vishwa Sharma has given a big statement on the defeat of Congress in Haryana Assembly elections. Sharma said on Wednesday that the Haryana Assembly election results are a lesson for the Congress that no state can be run by dividing Hindus. He said that Hindus also know how Rahul Gandhi is trying to divide the Hindu society. Sharma also took on Congress for criticizing electronic voting machines and asked all Congress chief ministers to resign before making any statement against EVMs.
‘Haryana elections showed that Hindus can remain united’
Himanta Taking aim at Congress, he said, ‘In my opinion, elections are different in all states. Elections in all states are fought on issues related to that state. However, the people of Haryana have taught a lesson to the Congress Party that you cannot run a state by dividing the Hindu society. Hindus also know about the conspiracy. Hindus also know how Rahul Gandhi is trying to divide the Hindu society. Haryana elections have shown that Hindus can remain united and Hindus can see through the notorious ‘game plan’ of the Congress Party.
‘Whenever they lose they raise questions on EVMs’
Asked about Congress’ criticism of EVMs for election results, Sharma said, ‘Whenever Congress wins, it does not question EVMs. Whenever they lose they raise questions on EVMs. So this is their old trick. First of all, all the Chief Ministers of Congress should resign and say that we were elected through EVM and we do not agree with such results. So once you resign the issue will be taken into consideration. But if you are a beneficiary of EVMs and you raise questions on EVMs, no one will take it seriously.
