Mumbai. Encouraged by the spectacular victory in Haryana, BJP wants to repeat the same success in Maharashtra. Efforts for this have already intensified. As soon as the Maharashtra government came into power, BJP-Shiv Sena-NCP have made a big move to woo OBC and SC voters.
The Eknath Shinde-led government has approved the ordinance giving constitutional status to the State Scheduled Commission. At the same time, there has been a demand from the Central Government that the limit for determining the creamy layer in OBC, which has been kept at 8 lakh, should be increased to 15 lakh. This is seen as an attempt to woo OBC and SC voters. Let us tell you that to avail the benefit of reservation in OBC category, creamy layer certificate has to be shown. It has to be proved that the family income is less than Rs 8 lakh annually. If this increases, thousands of people will directly benefit.
Don’t want to take risks
This decision of Maharashtra Cabinet is also important because opposition leader Sharad Pawar has been demanding increasing the creamy layer limit for OBC. The BJP-Shiv Sena government has approved their efforts. In Maharashtra, it is believed that OBC and SC will decide the victory this time. BJP does not want to take any risk because of Maratha reservation. On behalf of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, it was said that the State SC Commission will be given constitutional status. A bill for this will also be introduced in the next assembly session. Apart from this, approval has also been given for recruitment to 27 posts for the Commission.
Rahul Gandhi’s claim refuted
It has become clear from this decision that BJP has learned a lesson from the Lok Sabha elections. Because BJP, which won 23 seats in the last Lok Sabha elections, was reduced to only 9 seats this time. The reason behind this was believed to be that she could not manage the caste equation. Whereas the opposition alliance managed it well. This decision is also being seen as a counter to Rahul Gandhi’s claim in which he had repeatedly said that BJP wants to end reservation.
