Chandrakant Phunde and Jitendra Jadhav
The bugle of assembly elections in Maharashtra can sound any moment now. Meanwhile, political activities are at their peak. The NCP Sharad Pawar faction, which won a landslide victory in the last Lok Sabha elections, is looking full of enthusiasm. This party has almost captured Western Maharashtra. Half of the Ajit Pawar supporters in these areas have now joined Sharad Pawar’s faction. Meanwhile, interviews of candidates were conducted on Wednesday for all the assembly constituencies of Pune district. But Yugendra Pawar, who was interested in Baramati, was absent. This has sparked political discussion.
In view of the assembly elections, interviews of interested candidates of the district were organized by Sharad Chandra Pawar Group in Pune on Wednesday. In this, the name of Pawar’s nephew Yugendra Pawar was almost decided against Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar from Baramati. Earlier, hundreds of workers met former Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar at Govind Bagh in Baramati. Demanding to make Yugendra Pawar a candidate, the workers said that they want to replace Baramati’s grandfather (Ajit Pawar). But, since Yugendra Pawar did not turn up for the interview held in Pune on Wednesday, what is actually changing in the Pawar family? It will be important to see this.
Games start in Baramati
Interestingly, in three-four meetings, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar had indicated that he would not contest elections from Baramati Assembly. But, on Tuesday, thousands of workers stopped Ajit Pawar’s car convoy and adopted an aggressive stance and said that he should announce his candidature. Shortly after this, Ajit Pawar group leader Praful Patel has announced that Ajit Pawar will contest the assembly elections from Baramati. Everyone’s eyes are on whether there will really be a contest between uncle and nephew in the upcoming elections.
Meanwhile, when Supriya Sule and Rohit Pawar were asked about this, both of them gave easy answers. He said that a delegation had come from Baramati. They had suggested three or four names to the party panel committee. Rohit Pawar kept passing the time by answering back and forth as to what would happen to the interview of the Baramati candidate. But, the issue is what happened to Yugendra Pawar’s interview from Baramati. Actually, despite being a family member, Rohit Pawar came to the office and gave an interview. Then why did Yugendra not come? Then in short, many people started thinking that behind the scenes, some different movements are going on in the Pawar family for the merger of the party again.
