New Delhi: Congress lost the Haryana Assembly elections. Even after reaching the threshold of victory, Congress kept wringing its hands. BJP won within no time. Even though Congress got its wound from Haryana, its pain will be felt in many places. As soon as the results came out on Tuesday, Congress not only lost Haryana, but it also lost its bargaining power with its allies regarding seat sharing. The election results of Jammu-Kashmir and Haryana once again confirmed two things. First- Congress still needs crutches to move forward. Second- Congress still stumbles and falls in a direct fight with BJP. With these election results, the sword has now been drawn for the Congress. The path ahead is not at all easy for him.
Even though the political path seemed easy after the results of Lok Sabha elections, Haryana ruined the plans of Congress. The results of Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir elections will definitely have an impact on the upcoming assembly elections. There are assembly elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand later this year. Then after that elections will be held in Delhi only next year. These election results will also affect the elections in Maharashtra, Jharkhand and Delhi. It was defeated in Haryana, but Congress was able to come to power in Jammu and Kashmir only by relying on God.
Congress in power in Kashmir relying on NC
If Congress had not had an alliance with NC i.e. National Conference in Jammu and Kashmir, then it would have had to stay away from power in Kashmir. In Jammu and Kashmir, Congress had contested the elections with National Conference (NC). National Conference won 42 out of 51 seats, while Congress could get only 6 out of 32 seats. Congress has been able to become a partner in power in Jammu and Kashmir only because of its ally party National Conference. Even in Jammu and Kashmir, Congress remained a junior ally. In Jharkhand too, Congress is the junior ally of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM). To preserve its existence, it will have to stick to JMM. Elections are to be held in Jharkhand in November.
What lesson did Congress learn?
In this way, the election results of Jammu and Kashmir have shown that Congress still needs crutches. He is not in a position to stand on his feet yet. Along with Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana also gave a lesson to the Congress Party. That is, Congress still cannot survive in a direct fight with BJP. Despite 10 years of anti-incumbency against BJP in Haryana, Congress failed to defeat BJP in a direct contest. Like Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan… are such states where Congress has lost to BJP in a direct fight.
Congress’s path ahead is more difficult
The election results of Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir have made the path ahead for Congress more difficult. There are elections in Maharashtra in November this year. Congress has an alliance here with Uddhav’s Shiv Sena and Sharad Pawar’s NCP. After the results of Lok Sabha elections, Congress was in a strong position on the negotiating table. But the election results of Haryana and Kashmir have put Congress on the backfoot. The messages from Haryana and Kashmir have been understood by the allies of the India alliance. The effect of this will be that Congress will now have to suffer losses at the negotiating table. Now she will not be in a position to bargain in seat sharing.
I started showing my eyes right now
A glimpse of this was also visible after the election results. As soon as the results came out, Uddhav-led Shiv Sena got an opportunity to put Congress on the back foot. Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Priyanka Chaturvedi said on Tuesday on Haryana election results, ‘Congress party will also have to think about its strategy. Because wherever there is a direct contest with BJP, the Congress party becomes weak. Why does this happen Rework the entire alliance. It is important to mention here that Uddhav led Shiv Sena is an ally of Congress in Maharashtra. After the results of Lok Sabha elections, Congress was seeing itself in the role of elder brother in Maharashtra. But now he will get a shock.
The enthusiasm of the Lok Sabha should be increased now.
In the Lok Sabha elections, Congress had almost doubled its number of seats and won 99 seats. After this, Congress tried to establish itself as the leader of the India alliance. Congress was demanding the right to contest elections on maximum number of seats in Maharashtra and choose the candidate for the post of CM. But now it seems difficult to do so. After the defeat in Haryana, Congress may hardly have this privilege. However, Congress’s troubles are not limited to Maharashtra only. He will have to be on the backfoot in bargaining with Arvind Kejriwal in the Delhi Assembly elections next year also. In this way, the elections of Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir were a lesson to be learned for Congress. Congress was in full enthusiasm after the Lok Sabha elections, but now this enthusiasm will cool down. Now it has lost its bargaining power as an ally in the upcoming elections.
