Ratan Tata death: Honorary Chairman of Tata Group and veteran industrialist Ratan Tata passed away at Breach Candy Hospital in South Mumbai. He was ill for some time and was undergoing treatment in the hospital. He was 86 years old. Maharashtra and Jharkhand governments have announced one day state mourning on the death of Ratan Tata.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren said in a post on ‘X’, “One-day state mourning has been announced on the demise of Ratan Tata ji, former chairman of Tata Group and Padma Vibhushan, who gave global recognition to a backward state like Jharkhand.

Ratan Tata died at 11.30 pm at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. He was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital for the last few days. Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran confirmed Ratan Tata’s death in a statement and described him as his “friend and mentor”. Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran later said in a statement, “It is with deep sadness that we bid farewell to Ratan Naval Tata. He was truly an extraordinary leader, whose incomparable contribution has shaped not only the Tata Group but also the fabric of our nation.”

PM Modi also expressed grief

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday condoled the demise of veteran industrialist Ratan Tata, calling him a visionary business leader and an extraordinary human being. PM Modi said on ‘X’, “The most unique aspect of Shri Ratan Tata ji was his passion for dreaming big and giving back to others. He was at the forefront in advancing issues like education, healthcare, cleanliness, animal welfare.

Billionaire Harsh Goenka also expressed grief over Tata’s demise and called him a “titan” (a very important person) in a post on ‘X’. Ratan Tata had said on Monday that there is nothing to worry about his health and he is getting checked for age-related health problems. He had said, “I am currently undergoing a medical checkup due to age-related ailments. There is nothing to worry about. I am alright.”
