Shardiya Navratri 2024 Day 8 Maa Mahagauri: Today is the eighth day of Shardiya Navratri. The eighth day of Navratri is also known as Mahashtami. Today on Ashtami Tithi, Mata Mahagauri, the eighth power of Goddess Durga, will be worshipped. Worshiping Mother Gauri increases food, wealth and happiness and prosperity. Apart from this, along with worshiping Mother Goddess, food should also be provided to Brahmins. After providing food, give some dakshina and also take blessings by touching their feet. This makes Mother Goddess very happy and fulfills all the wishes of the mind. So let us know what offerings should be offered to Mata Rani on the Ashtami day of Navratri and what mantras should be chanted during the puja.
Nature of Mother Mahagauri
The vehicle of both Maa Mahagauri and Goddess Shailputri, the eighth form of Goddess Durga, is bull and for this reason they are also known as Vrisharudha. Goddess Mahagauri is depicted in quadrilateral form. She holds a trident in one of her right hands and keeps the other right hand in Abhaya Mudra. She holds Damru in one left hand and keeps the other left hand in Vara Mudra. Due to the fair complexion of Mother Gauri, she is also called Mahagauri or Shwetambardhara. Their color is compared to conch shell, moon god and tuberose flower.
