The effigy is ready in 1 month
Artist Anish Ahmed, who created Ravana, told Local 18 that Kota’s Dussehra makes it special. It takes a full month to prepare the biggest effigies of Ravana, Meghnath and Kumbhkaran made here. There is a special thing about Ravana of Kota. The Ravana here laughs loudly, rotates his head, swings his sword, blinks and moves his mouth. On the day of Ravana Dahan, not only Kota, but lakhs of people from the surrounding four districts become witnesses of Ravana Dahan. These artists are praised after the end of evil after the burning of Ravana.

It takes so much material to make a mannequin
Aneesh Ahmed, the artist who created Ravana, further told Local 18 that he has been making effigies of Ravana since childhood. His father also used to do the same work and now Anish’s son Aash and nephew Murtalin also make effigies of Ravana, Meghnath and Kumbhkaran. It takes one month to prepare the effigies of Ravana, Meghnath and Kumbhkaran. 25 people have come from Delhi, who are working day and night. To make these effigies, 300 kg paper waste, 250 to 300 kg twine rope, 400 to 500 kg bamboo and 300 kg dough were used. To decorate Ravana, colorful papers are brought from Delhi only.
Anish Ahmed told that the largest Ravana of 101 feet was prepared in Kota in 2019. This time Ravana will be 80 feet tall and huge 60 feet effigies of Meghnath and Kumbhkaran will be made. Ravana will be burnt on the day of Vijayadashami. When millions of people see this Ravana, people also see our art. Our hard work of one month is reflected in this giant Ravana, on that day we feel that we are the heroes of today.
