Ghaziabad: Kaushambi police station of Ghaziabad district of Uttar Pradesh has arrested a total of 8 people including 5 girls while exposing the fraud in the name of meeting girls through dating app. According to the information given by the police, the accused used to invite people to cafes to meet girls through dating apps and used to charge more than the food items. When the customer refused to pay the bill, they held him hostage and demanded money. After receiving the complaint in this matter, the police arrested 8 people including 5 girls.
‘Held hostage for not paying bills’
According to the information given by the police, a person named Vikas Gupta, a resident of Dayalpur, Delhi, had lodged a complaint on Tuesday that dating app An attempt was made to extort more than the cost of the food items from him in the name of inviting him to meet the girls. He alleged that for not paying the bill, he was held hostage and demanded money. Acting on the complaint, Kaushambi police has arrested 3 youths named Khalid alias Imran resident of Sahibabad, Nadeem resident of Shastri Park, Delhi and Sumit resident of Kalyanpuri, Delhi and 5 girls.
The accused revealed the whole story during interrogation
When interrogated by the police, the arrested accused and the accused and the owner of the café told that they used to invite boys to their café in the name of meeting the girls working in their café by talking to them through dating apps. If a boy used to come to the cafe then he would charge 5 to 6 times the price of the item he ordered. The accused told during interrogation that when the bill was not paid, they used to take hostage and demand money. After Dayalpur resident Vikas Gupta complained to the police, the entire fraud was exposed and the accused were arrested.
