Shakti Singh/Kota: A horrific incident was averted at the Dussehra fair in Kota when a 10 feet long python started climbing on a couple who had reached the fair late at night. Kishorepura police station showed promptness and saved the couple in time. The incident happened around 3 o’clock in the night, when the python was passing over a couple sleeping on the footpath. The patrolling police noticed this and immediately intervened, due to which a major accident was averted.
Accident averted due to promptness of police
At night, the Kishorepura police station team deployed on duty at the fair saw that a huge python was climbing on a couple sleeping on the footpath. The policemen immediately woke them up and removed the python with the help of sticks. If the police had not arrived on time, the python could have caught the couple in its grip or even bit them. This understanding saved both their lives.
Snake catcher rescues python
After the incident, the police called snake catcher Govind Sharma, who successfully rescued the python within about 10-15 minutes. Govind Sharma told that he got a call from the police at 3 o’clock in the night that a huge python had been seen in the Dussehra fair. After capturing the python, it was released safely into the forest.
Python was seen near the police station earlier also
Govind Sharma further told that this python was being seen around Kishorepura police station for the last 3-4 days, but every time it used to enter the tank under the ground. After leaving the police station, this python had reached the fair ground. Although the python has not harmed anyone so far, if it had grabbed the couple, a major accident could have happened. The incident lauded the promptness of the police and snake catchers, who averted a possible accident without any delay.
